Training for Social Workers
The HKCSS Institute's Certificate in Primary Healthcare for Social Workers is an initiative commissioned by the Primary Healthcare Office of the Health Bureau, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to provide training on primary healthcare for social workers in alignment with the blueprint of primary healthcare development in Hong Kong. This certificate program is the first of its kind held in the social welfare sector. We were honoured to speak in the first session and share our insights on primary healthcare development in Hong Kong with the participants.
During the session, we covered important topics such as the background and development of primary healthcare in Hong Kong, principles of primary healthcare, health and well-being, district health centres, public-private partnerships, challenges and opportunities for NGOs, and provided toolkits for NGOs to work effectively on primary healthcare. Our objective was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the development of primary healthcare in Hong Kong and promote the health and well-being of the community. We are pleased to receive positive feedback from their evaluation.
